About Site This site is version 3 of my site. "Akela" is the name of the Great Grey Lone Wolf/Leader of the Pack in Rudyard Kipling's Mowgli stories. The name also translates generically to "strength & cunning." The site itself was created as a way for me to "keep house" of my model horses, their show progress, and share my collection with others without having to physically move them too much. I love looking at all the different variations of models and I presume at least a few others in the hobby feel the same way. This site is also an outlet to perhaps meet others in the same hobby as I. My HTML experience was mostly self-taught, etc. and I use Miscrosoft Front Page 2000 for most of my site designing, updating, and so forth. I often utilize the web for "free templates" then modify them to suit my needs and likes. I simply don't have time to free design my own from scratch right now. More details on me,etc. are below and on my main website, "Rebel Wolf." About Me I'm new to the hobby in regards to live showing, photo showing, and attending events, but I'm a veteran when it comes to collecting. I've had Breyers since I was a child. Only a couple of those exist to this day as some were considered toys back then and the others were lost/damaged in moves, natural disasters, etc. I do have two favorite breeds, Arabians and Thoroughbreds and this site and my collection will reflect that. My collection will also show my interest in ancient cultures as my "performance" entries and some names will reflect a bit of that. I hope to live show a few times a year and photo show more than that. Time and money constraints may limit my participation in such events however. Though I do hope to get to NAN, Breyerfest, or other large events at some point. Model horses aren't my only "expensive" hobby or life interest so it must share my VERY limited resources. You can find more information about me off my main website: http://www.chaoswolf.com/me.html. There you will find much more info on me and my other hobbies/sport interests. I've always dreamed of one day owning real horses and perhaps one day that dream will be realized, but for now, the little model ones will suffice until I gain enough experience with real ones and have enough money, time, and a home with the space. And of course, when that opportunity arrives, I will likely seek out/rescue some ex-racing Thoroughbreds and/or own some Arabians (that shouldn't surprise you given the theme of my collection/site). Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments, etc. at strikewolf@yahoo.com or utilize my guestbook (below)
